Last Month's Winner's Work In Progress - See for your self!

Artistic Perfection is processing the layers of Olga's winning photo, based on the colors library. Unfortunately, the video format does not do it sufficient justice - in terms of the quality.

We will have a live example as we document the actual painting of the original. So keep stopping back to visit.

In the meantime, Scroll down and consider making a submission for this month's contest. People and Animals is the Theme.

New Photo Contest Theme - People/Animals - has begun! - Good Luck!!

The Contest will end on July 5th. There is no charge to enter, enter as often as you wish, but all submissions must be accompanied with the submission agreement. (1 submission agreement per photo).

On the basis of our recent poll, there was a tie between a contest theme of People vs Animals. As a result, we decided to combine the themes for our contest this month.

From the digital submissions we receive over the next 30 days, we will select a winning photo, which will be converted to an original work of art (Acrylic, Oil or Water Color). The completed original painting will be awarded to the owner of the photograph - if he or she desires. A time lapse movie will be produced of the painting, which will be posted here. Therefore, by submitting to the contest, the owner agrees to permit the use of their photo image for demonstration of our software - Artistic Perfection. Your original photo and any personal information will not be released or made public without your prior agreement.

Based on the subject matter and composition, we will consider producing a limited edition proof run. Sales of the production or limited edition proofs will pay a royalty amount of 8.5% of the Print's sales to the contest winner/original image owner for one (1) year.

To submit a photo, email Artistic Perfection Art Contest and request an application and consent statement. All unsolicited photos will be deleted as we must be assured of the ownership and will not violate copyrights.

Good Luck!

Winners' Gallery for May's Photo Contest

Well, it took some deliberation, but here are the top winners for May. We were impressed and amazed with all of the submissions, so this wasn't an easy decision. Our congratulations go out to all contestants.

First Place - "Pelican With An Attitude"  - Olga

Who knew Florida could be this cold? The wind out at the end of St. Petersburg pier on the morning of December 29 last year was positively icy. This poor guy wasn't any happier about it than we were. He was huddled on the piling in the middle of what I immediately christened Pelican Bay. I got within ten feet of him that he decided that was plenty close enough, thank you, & sprang into action. Perhaps he thought I would offer him a fish. Later, we came across him again, hanging out with some friends at a little stand labelled "Pelican Food for Sale".

Second Place - "Fishing off Boynton Beach FL- Christine

Third Place - "Purple Tulip- Mark R. Yeatts - Twitter @mryeatts

Fourth Place - "Utah Farmlands"   - Olga

 Utah Farmlands in Late Spring

Fifth Place - "Garden Mice"   - Robin

I took this picture in our backyard garden area on Oct. 16, 2009. This family of mice (mom and two little ones), were living in the wood railroad tie retaining wall at one end of our garden. They were curious about me and my camera, so the three of them were standing on each other peeking out from between two sections to get a closer look.

Contest Photo Suggestions, BUT ... The Sky Is the Limit!

Often we take photos that are spectacular. They mysteriously capture more than what we expected. We may have an idea what the photo will look like, but when we actually see the finished product - BOOM! We're surprised to see something we didn't expect. The surprise completes the photo somehow. Perhaps it is an expression, a glint of light, anticipation of a moment in time, a surprise ending. These seemingly random elevate a photo to a memory or an event.

Artistic Perfection - PROCESSING

The heart of Artistic Perfection is an image processor that is capable of "adjusting" the output canvas based on how you want the final painting to appear. Once this decision is made, the image processor will work to apply the preferences, based on settings and colors defined by the user. This video provides a live animation of the image processor in operation.
